William M. Donovan, Sr., age 93, of Scituate and Boynton Beach, FL., passed away peacefully on April 12, 2012.  Mr. Donovan was the beloved husband of the late Marie P. (Burke) and the father of Patricia M. Nixon and her husband, Jack of Savannah, GA. and William M. Donovan, Jr. and his wife, Eileen of Scituate. He was the grandfather of Sarah H. Donovan, William M. Donovan, III, Brian J. Nixon, Timothy M. Nixon, Sean P. Nixon, Mark T. Nixon and 5 great grandchildren.

Mr. Donovan was born and raised in Charlestown and was a loyal "TOWNIE". He enjoyed many summers on Cohasset Harbor. Mr. Donovan loved boating, traveling and history relating to the Civil War. He attended Boston College and worked for the Federal Government as a liaison with the Raytheon Co. DCASAR Missile Systems.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 10 am in St. Anthony Church, Cohasset. Visiting hours Monday, April 16 from 4-7 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St. (across from St. Anthony Church), Cohasset. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Scituate. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's memory may be made to the Etrusco Assoc., PO BOX 265, Scituate, MA. 02066 or to the Linden Ponds Benevolent Care Fund, 205 Linden Ponds Way, Hingham, MA
