Willard Colburn "Bill" Everett Jr., of Norwell, died at South Shore Hospital Thursday January 11, 2024. He was 88 years old.

Born and raised in Milton, Bill was a graduate of Milton High School, Class of 1953 and Hobart College, Geneva, NY Class of 1957. After graduation, he started working for Firemans Insurance and was drafted into service with the United States Army in 1957. Bill served in Germany and was discharged as a Sergeant in 1959.

After his honorable discharge, Bill returned to the insurance industry and after having worked for Reliance and City Group and a long term stay with Aetna in Brockton, he retired as an underwriter with Travellers in 2001.

Bill loved the outdoors. He was an avid skier, sailor, and fisherman. He loved the Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics and Patriots, but found his greatest pleasure in gardening, and the long walks, bike rides, and cross-country skiing outings with his son Dana.

Beloved husband of the late Annette M. (Curley) Everett. Loving father of Dana B. Everett of Norwell. Brother of Nancy Worcester. Bill is also survived by his niece Claudia (Worcester) Wilson and nephew James Worcester, Jr.

Funeral Service at McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer Street, Cohasset Tuesday January 23 at 12:00 Noon.  Family and friends invited.  Visitation prior to the service from 10:30 am - 12:00 Noon.  Interment Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 2:30 PM.
