Anne was the middle child born to Frank and Mary McKenna of Dorchester on September 11, 1928. She is predeceased by her sisters, Margaret Greene and Marie Keville, and her two brothers, Frank McKenna, Jr. and Jack McKenna.
Anne graduated at the age of 15 from Dorchester High for Girls and then went to work at General Electric until her marriage to Frank in 1949. The couple first made their home in Dorchester and then Quincy before settling in Cohasset in 1966 to raise their family. With 7 children, the house was aways lively, active and filled with her children’s friends. Anne was a gracious hostess for many family and neighborhood get togethers-most memorable were the many pool parties.
Anne and Frank were long time members of the Cohasset Golf Club, The Neighborhood Club of Quincy and were active members of St. Anthony Parish. She was the greatest asset to The Frank Evans Co. and her children’s foremost supporter. She also volunteered her time at the Deer Hill Library and the Cohasset Food Pantry. She was an avid reader and did crossword puzzles and word games effortlessly.
Anne was truly a gracious woman who was devoted most of all to her role as mother and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her large family.
A special thank you to the staff at The Residence at Penniman Hill for their compassionate care of our dear mother for the past few years.
