We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Cohasset
Averill L. Davison, of Scituate, died Sunday, June 19, 2022 after a brief illness. Averill was predeceased by her beloved husband of 58 years Richard (Dick) Davison. She was born on July 25, 1939 in Weymouth, Massachusetts. She is predeceased by her mother Esther (Thayer) Noland and her father Paul Noland. She graduated from Weymouth High School and was a longtime employee of New England Telephone.
Averill was a simple, kindhearted woman who made friends wherever she went. Her shopping trips to Shaw’s often took twice as long as they needed to so she could catch up with all the employees she befriended over the years. She enjoyed sewing, painting, baking and chatting with her many neighbors. Many of them were lucky to have not just one, but many of her handmade quilts in their homes. She was especially blessed with neighbors who became family including Margaret and John Springer and their sons Sam and Jack Springer, as well as Mary and Michael Merritt. She also considered her dear friends of many years, Debra and Rich Page and their son Dennis of NH, to be her family.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 11AM at St. Anthony’s Church-Cohasset. Visitation will be 1 hour prior from 10-11am at the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer Street, Cohasset. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Burial will be at St, Mary’s Cemetery, Scituate. Visit www.mcnamara-sparrell.com for guestbook and directions.
