Barbara (Dion) Hiltz of Cohasset passed away on October 23, 2021, at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Lester B. Hiltz and Mother of Donna Petersen and her husband Patrick, Darlene Hadfield and her husband Steven, all from Cohasset. She was Grandmother to Tonya Lovell of Florida and Trisha Petersen of Cohasset. She was fondly known as GG to her great grandchildren Tobi Benotti, Tyler Mines, Tristen Lovell. She also leaves behind her brother Richard Dion of Marshfield. And she is pre-deceased by her brother Paul Dion of Scituate and Susan Kecskemety of Cohasset. She had many nieces and nephews, and special family including niece Suzanne Averill, sister in-law Carol Rowe, and brothers in law Paul and Harry Hiltz.
While she will be missed by many, the family takes great comfort knowing that she is in the arms of her beloved husband who passed away in 1993. Her strength of character was above and beyond, she always exuded positivity. After graduating from Cohasset High School with high honors, Barbara traveled the world as a military wife devoted to her husband and family. She was an active member of the Wives Club serving as their President for several years. Her Catholic faith was an essential part of her life and she loved her church. Barbara wore many hats through the years and was a Bookkeeper/Accountant /Receptionist at Cohasset Town Hall, Cohasset Winter Gardens and The Hair Consultants Salon in Pembroke. She had many talents, was very artistic, and was a great cook and hostess for many special and fun family holidays and parties. She also enjoyed golfing with her husband Lester and they were members of Hatherly Country Club in Scituate.
A mass will be held Saturday, November 20th, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Church, 129 South Main Street, Cohasset.
