Beatrice Aghajanian Obituary

Beatrice “Mimi” Aghajanian, a longtime resident of Braintree, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2022 in the presence of her loving family. She was 88 years old.

Bea was born and raised in Worcester. Shortly after graduating from Commerce High School, she married Nishan “Nick” Aghajanian. The two were happily married for over sixty-four years until his passing in 2019.

Bea loved to spend time with her family, and nothing brought a bigger smile to her face like her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When she wasn’t with her family, you could find her doing something for her family: cooking delicious Armenian food, crocheting a blanket for a grandkid, or baking a few dozen Snickerdoodle cookies to send along as a care package.

She also loved the slot machines at Foxwoods Casino, often playing multiple machines at once with amazing dexterity. And we all appreciated that, even on those casino trips, she’d find time to load up on moist toilettes and mints to distribute out to anyone in need over the coming months.

Beatrice was predeceased by her husband and her sister Charlotte Divrigian of Shrewsbury. She is survived by her three children: Michael and his wife Elizabeth from Laguna Niguel, California, Diane Burke and her husband Robert from Scituate, and David and his wife Vicki from Ninety Six, South Carolina. She also leaves behind six grandchildren (Alexandra, Nicholas, Matthew, Mark, Alyssa and Mikayla), four great-grandchildren (Brealynn, Declan, Charlotte and Hana), her brother John Fashjian and his wife Michelle of Framingham, her sister Marie Damon of Holden, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be remembered for her fun and charismatic nature, her inspiring work ethic, the limitless love she gave her family, and her innate ability to turn a stranger into a friend.

The Family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Laurie and her wonderful staff in the Cove, at Allerton House. And to the staff from North River Home Care who took such wonderful care of mom in her final weeks.

Visitation, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be held at the McNamara -Sparrell Funeral Home, One Summer Street, Cohasset from 11am-noon on June 24th, 2022.
