Bradley Dean Obituary

Bradley Scott Dean (Brad) of Cohasset, MA passed away unexpectedly due to complications from surgery on May 24th, 2023 at the age of 50.

Brad was born December 1, 1972 and grew up in Sherborn, MA. Brad was the middle child and oldest son of Jonathan Tyler and Linda Dean. Brad graduated from Dover-Sherborn High School in 1991 and from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1996. Brad joined the Peace Corps following his college graduation where he proudly served the people of Malawi as a Biology teacher in the village of Dedza. One of Brad’s proudest moments was organizing and building a basketball court for the students. To accomplish this, Brad worked alongside the students using local materials, their hands, and raw determination. Upon returning from Africa, Brad entered a career in the clinical trials field while also earning a Master’s degree in Business from Boston University. Brad ascended quickly in his field, assuming various positions across his 25-year career and ultimately held the position of Executive Vice President, Medical Imaging at Clario.

Brad lived life to the fullest with a fervent passion that was at the core of who he was. He loved big dogs, travel, adventure and the outdoors. He was an avid and formidable racquet player - tennis, paddle, pickle, and ping pong. He liked to say he should have turned pro. If you didn’t see Brad on the court you would find him training for triathlons, toiling away in the garden, kayaking, or fishing. Even with all the adventures Brad had experienced he most cherished providing for his family. He deeply loved his wife Kristen and his two daughters, Scarlett and Colbie, his parents, brother and sister, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dog Willow. He lived every day to create beautiful life experiences with them and he succeeded in this. He created a tranquil yard for them to rest and play in, broadened their horizons by exploring islands, mountains, oceans, and lakes together. He fostered the emergence of their academic and athletic skills by practicing and sharing stories of his childhood.

Brad was a natural leader. He mentored and inspired friends, family, and colleagues alike. He led by example with empathy and fierce advocacy for the people and issues he deeply believed in. An attentive listener and an aggressive hugger he could garner the attention of everyone when he entered a room, but always had the ability to make you feel like you were the only person there when he engaged with you. Brad left a lasting legacy with everyone he touched and an imprint on all those he loved, and those who loved him.

Brad is survived by his wife Kristen Landreth Dean, his daughters Scarlett Landreth Dean, and Colbie Turner Dean; his parents Jonathan Tyler and Linda Dean; his sister Kim Tierney and her husband John Tierney; his brother Brian Dean, sister-in-law Bridgette Dean; his father-in-law Duane Landreth and mother-in-law Cynthia Landreth; his brother-in-law Parker Landreth and his wife Kristin Landreth;  and his nieces and nephews Jackson Dean, James Tierney, Madison Tierney, Mackenzie Tierney, Mason Dean, Harper Dean and Theodore Landreth.

A celebration of life service will be held to honor Brad for family and close friends on June 7th, from 1-4pm at the Red Lion Inn, Cohasset, MA.
