Cathleen “Cat” Marie Collins – August 5, 1964-July 26, 2021
Cat passed away at home, surrounded by family after a difficult battle with cancer. She is survived by her parents, Robert F. and Claire Rowan Collins of Cohasset, her sister Susan Collins Hayes of Dedham, her brother Robert J. Collins and sister in law, Nise Nekehba of East Longmeadow, her sister Elizabeth Collins Willis and brother in law Brian Willis of Scituate. She was a devoted aunt to niece Alexandria M. Hayes of Plainville, her nephews Sam Dalton Hayes and his wife Deidre of Jamaica Plain, Aidan Collins Willis and James Collins Willis of Scituate, and her great-niece Lucy Doiron Hayes. She will be deeply missed by her extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and by all of her friends and co-workers.
Cat was an imaginative dreamer who loved her family, especially her niece and nephews, fiercely. She was a deeply empathetic person and she used that quality in her work as a counselor at Harvard, University of Texas and most recently, MIT. She was happiest at the beach and would always want to be the last to leave. She was a voracious reader and always had at least two books in her bag, no matter how heavy it was to carry. She loved horror movies and had an encyclopedic memory for every movie she had seen or any book she had read.
Her humor, her kindness, and her generosity of spirit will be missed by her family forever.
