Dear Rob & Cathy,

We too were very sorry to hear the news about your Corey.  God decided to use a #1 first round pick to select a superstar to join His team earlier than expected.  Corey will live forever in the hearts and minds of all who were touched by his life.

Our prayers are with you, your family, and Corey.

Our deepest sympathies are with the Griffin Family and all related family members.  (Bishop, Hildreth et al.) The news of Corey Griffin's unfortunate and untimely death, combined with the tremendous news and media reports about him, are very sad, but yet, uplifting as far as the kind of generous and giving person Corey was. Anyone who created the Ice Bucket Challenge as a nationally recognized charitable event in support of ALS - is certainly a unique individual who leaves a wonderful legacy for his proud family to remember him by. Our prayers, thoughts and condolences are with you at this time of need. With warmest regards, Laurie and Mike

To Rob and Cathy, My condolences on your loss of Corey; The death of a young person has always been my most difficult to handle and I pray for you at this time. I planned on attending today and arrived at 1:45 but was behind several hundred others. What a tribute! Being over eighty I came home and have been thinking about my Griffin family experiences since. From Grandparents through Rob, Cris and Corey; including meeting Cathy at Pilgrim with the beginning skate class with Corey and Mike and at the Weymouth club. Alan and I have always been impressed by the strength and accomplishments of your family. Rob and Cathy: my most heartfelt sympathy.

I remember with fondness and pleasure the days when your family lived here on Berkley Circle. Your children were always such a delight and a true credit to their wonderful mother and father. I have never lost a child, but my heart knows the grief must overwhelming. There are no words or deeds that can begin to soothe the loss, only the knowledge that you were loving and caring parents and that Corey's life, too short, was filled with happiness and love. God Bless your family in this time of sorrow and my prayers that the good memories will surface more often than the sorrow in the days to come.

Corey was given great gifts by God and those gifts were burnished by his loving family. Corey worked to make the world a kinder and fairer place. We will cherish our time spent in his company and with his wonderful family.

" To love with understanding and without understanding. To love blindly, and to folly. To see only what is lovable. To think only on these things. To see the best in everyone around, their virtues rather than their faults. To see Christ in them"

A good heart has gone to rest. Peace.

Mr. and Mrs. Griffin, Michael and Casey,

I remember Corey as diligent and perhaps my most appreciative student at Thayer Academy.  His energy was infectious, and his successfulness and gratitude alone would make any teacher feel that his or her calling was purposeful.  May we all take from the sparkle of his productive life a little light to guide us more clearly in how to live.  And may all of the kindnesses that you, his mother, father, sister and brother, have shown to so many others find their way back to you now at this hour of your sorrow in the form of the Lord's finest peace.
Message from Tom & Kathy Giunta
August 19, 2014 2:39 PM

To the Griffin family:

Our son, Ryan and Corey were good friends. Sadly, we understand all too well the horrific pain of losing a beloved first born son far too soon! We are truly sadden by your loss. Our hearts and prayers go out to your family.

When our son Michael (Ryan's older brother) passed away just last year in Boston at age 34, your son Corey came to his memorial on the cape to offer Ryan and our family support. It truly meant the world to us! Although we only met Corey briefly the day, we were truly touched by his kindness and concern. Ryan was very lucky to have him by his side that day as a good friend and as his parents, we were so very grateful to him for that.

Please accept our sincere condolences. May God's strength carry you through this difficult time and in the days/years ahead.

With love and appreciation to your son Corey,
The Giunta family

Rob, Cathy: I cannot even express in words the sadness I feel for you and your family at this time. From all the people I have spoken to and the articles I have read, Corey was truly a young man blessed with the qualities that we all strive for in life: goodness, kindness, happiness and a friend that anyone would want to have. I remember when he was born and how happy you were. Please know that I am thinking of you and your family with a heavy heart filled with sadness and grief, and wish you all some solace in this terrible moment of your lives.
