Dr. Donald Edwin Madden, age 95, took his final rest on Friday, April 28th, 2023, in Norwell, Massachusetts.
Donald E. Madden was born in Greene Township, Pennsylvania, to Joseph and Regina Madden. In 1941 he and his family moved to New Jersey. He graduated from Roselle Park High School, Roselle Park, New Jersey, in 1946. Don then served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in December 1947. Don later attended the Chiropractic Institute of New York and graduated in August 1966. He worked as a chiropractic assistant to Dr. Lachnicht in Elizabeth, New Jersey before opening his own practice in Roselle Park, New Jersey in September 1971. He always remained ahead of his time, looking to diet, supplements, and exercise as the best form of medicine.
He married his first wife Rita Schiessl in 1967 who had two sons, Arnold and Richard. Following time and healing from his first wife’s passing, Donald married Dianne Cooper in 2006 who had one daughter, Kathleen.
His colleagues, friends, family, and caretakers knew Dr. Donald Madden as a fine gentleman, who remained sharp through his years, always staying on top of research and remaining organized. He was a collector of thoughts and things. Together, Donald and Rita enjoyed ball room dancing in New York City. Later, he and his wife Dianne continued to square dance as long as their bodies were able to. Don passed the time listening to country/polka music and was even the president of the Coon Hill Bird Club in Ledgedale, Pennsylvania. Dr. Madden wholeheartedly devoted himself to both Rita and Dianne, as well as his chiropractic patients, and his practice. Donald was a loving and thoughtful husband, father, grandfather, and uncle.
