IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward T.
Mulvey
July 25, 1935 – February 24, 2024
Edward Thomas Mulvey, age 88, a life-long Cohasset resident, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2024.
Edward, aka ET, Eddie, Uncle Ed, Mr. Mulvey, or Pumpkin, is survived by his stepchildren, Catherine (Anderson) Santarsiero and her husband William of CT, Michael Anderson and wife Jennifer of CT, Brooke (Anderson) Whitman and husband Joel of Hanson, MA, and Christian Anderson and wife Jennifer of CT. Grandfather of 10. Ed was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Willwerth, Jane Trettis, and Elizabeth Marchesi, yet leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
A graduate of Cohasset High School and Boston College, Edward proudly served his country as an officer in the United States Army before embarking on a distinguished career as President of Pilgrim Cooperative Bank. Committed to his community, Edward was deeply involved in the heart of downtown Cohasset, where he dedicated his life to the Cooperative Bank, carrying on the legacy passed down from his father. A quiet yet formidable presence, he transformed the institution into a cornerstone of our community. As we bid farewell, we remember not only a banker but also a devoted steward of Cohasset's financial well-being.
Edward's civic engagement extended beyond banking; he was actively involved with the George H. Mealy Post and Rotary Club in Cohasset. With a passion for elderly care, he served as president and board member of South Shore Elder Services for many years, generously volunteering his time at the Cohasset Senior Center.
Edward found joy in life's simple pleasures, whether it was enjoying nature, taking leisurely drives by the ocean or across the country, to enjoy America's beauty, watching his grandchildren play at their sporting events, sharing meals with loved ones, or simply spending time at the legion with friends.
