Elaine M. (Murphy) Higgins

Elaine M. (Murphy) Higgins, age 77, of Norwell, passed away on July 5, 2021 at home. Beloved wife of the late John E. Higgins to whom she was married for 31 years. Devoted mother of John A.  “Jack” Higgins and wife Michelle of Charlotte, NC; Christopher P. Higgins and wife Michelle of Foxboro; and Jill P. Higgins of Weymouth. Loving nana of Jonathan B. Higgins and Nicholas M. Higgins both of Foxboro. Sister of Marilyn DeCosta of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Also survived by her niece Kimberly Bonacker and husband Joe and their daughters Sarah and Brooke of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, as well as her cousin Beverly Cuming Coneys of VA.

Elaine was a graduate of Hull High School and Stonehill College. She enjoyed her variety puzzles and loved her feline friend Patches. Elaine was a fighter, having battled Lupus for 45 years and beating Ovarian Cancer. She was devoted to her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021 from 8:30 am-9:30 am in McNamara Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central Street, Norwell, MA. 02061 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Helen Church, 383 Washington Street, Norwell, MA. 02061. Interment Stetson Meadows Cemetery, Norwell. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Elaine may be made to the Lupus Foundation, www.lupus.org
