Elizabeth "Betty" White, of Quincy, formerly of Cohasset and Rockland, passed away on May 3, 2021, her 86th birthday. Born in Rockland, she was the beloved daughter and only child of William H. Bell, Jr. and Frances M. (Bolawski) Bell and the the long time companion of the late Rocco "Rocky" Laugelle of Cohasset.
Betty retired after a long and fulfilling career as Executive Secretary to G. Prescott Low, the former Publisher of The Patriot Ledger. Betty loved driving a spotless car, dining out- especially at the Inn at Bay Pointe- and spending time in her home and with her friends, young and old. She enjoyed many long friendships, especially with residents at her home of 25 years at Aquarius Condominium in Quincy, where she volunteered her services as a Notary Public for many condominium association matters. She often said, "When you have good friends in your life, you are never really alone", and during her recent health struggles, she was so comforted by her friends who were there for her when she needed them most.
Known for her beautifully styled hair and attractive clothes, she took great pride in her appearance. She was a good friend to her friends, and to her favorite friend, Diamond, her treasured Shih Tzu; her time spent with him was priceless. Over the years, she treasured her "fur babies", most recently Magic and Beau. Any dog would be lucky to have been spoiled and loved by Betty.
The friends of Betty would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the entire staff at Harbor House Rehab. and Nursing Center in Hingham, where she received superb care. Their thoughtfulness and kindness will always be fondly remembered.
At the request of Betty, services are private.
Donations in Betty's memory may be made to the Scituate Animal Shelter, Attn: Help Fund, 780 CJC Hwy, Scituate, MA. 02066. The Help Fund helps to care for pets of seniors, disabled community members and those facing financial hardship.
