Florence Valeta Perdigao, 90, passed away on September 6 2022. She was born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, the eighth of 11 children born to Hugh and Maggie MacDonald. As a young adult she moved to Boston where she met her future husband Manny, at a dance club. They were married for 54 years until his death in 2009. Valeta took pride in being a homemaker and mother of four children. She lived most of her life in Verona, NJ and Cohasset, MA. Always generous with her time she was involved in her church and community and worked in a nursery school program. Valeta was warm and engaging and loved telling stories, laughing while holding court at her kitchen table with family and friends. Known for being an exceptional cook and baker, anyone stopping by her home knew they would be treated to the world's best apple pie. Valeta was predeceased by her devoted husband Manuel Perdigao. She was a loving mother and grandmother and is survived by her children: Michael (Caren) of Bonita Springs FL, Pamela of Atlanta GA, Mark (Lori) of Princeton Junction NJ, Paul of Charlestown MA. and her grandchildren: Brian, Steven, Julia (Matthew) and Scott and her granddog, Rory. She is also survived by two siblings: her brother John and her sister Betty, as well as a large and loving extended family. A funeral will be held St Anthony’s Catholic Church on September 13th, 2022 at 11:00 am. Visiting hours will be prior to Mass from 9:30 -10:30AM. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Interment will be at the Woodside Cemetery, Cohasset, MA. In lieu of flowers donation's in Florence's memory may be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation-https://leukemiarf.org/
