Frances R. (Hurley) Forrand

Frances Rose (Hurley) Forrand of Whitman, MA on December 16, 2021 at Royal Nursing Home in Norwell, MA. Fran is predeceased by her twin sister, Vera, and parents, Francis (formerly of Brookline) and Vera (formerly of Rochdale, England) Hurley of Norwell, MA.  She leaves behind her husband of 54 years, Joseph R. Forrand, formerly of Abington, MA and now of Whitman, MA. Sons David Forrand and wife Ruth, of Pawtucket, RI, and Eric Forrand, and wife Diane, of Holbrook, MA.  Her daughter, Denise Leth,and husband Corey,  of Kingston, MA also mourn her passing.  Her sister, Barbara (Hurley), and her husband Denis Childs of Norwell have lost a beloved sister and friend.   

She also leaves her heart’s  delights, her grandchildren, Matthew Forrand, Melissa Forrand, Ellery Leth, and Egan Leth.

Fran grew up in Norwell and was a 1964 graduate of Norwell High School.  She began her working career at New England Merchants’ Bank in Boston.    She and her husband Joe have lived in Whitman from the time they married to the present.  She worked intermittently while also raising her family.   Fran loved attending ceramics classes and did so for many years, gifting family and friends with Santa Clauses, Christmas trees, Easter bunnies and more.   Bingo games were a favorite for many years.   She loved traveling with her friends Pam and Dave Boudreau, most memorably by train to Disney World, along with family trips to Disney World and England ,and her trip out west with her husband to the National Parks and New Mexico.Her last adventure was a trip to Ireland with her sister, Barbara.  

A memorial service will be held at the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral  Home in Norwell, MA.  Visitors may pay their respects to family on Monday, December 20, 2021  between the hours of 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM.  Interment will be private at the Bourne National Cemetery.
