Jacquelyn Keane Obituary

Jacquelyn Marie Keane

October 7, 1966 - September 18, 2023

Jacquelyn Marie Keane, a lifelong resident of Scituate, passed away on September 18, 2023 at her home with family.  She was the loving daughter of Frances M. (Palumbo) Keane and the late John F. Keane of Scituate.  A devoted sister, she leaves behind Paula Thomas and her husband Gordon of Kingston and her brother Christopher Keane of Scituate.  Jackie was the granddaughter of the late Grace and Joseph Palumbo and Margaret and John Keane, all of Boston.  One of Jackie’s greatest roles in life was being an aunt and she will be forever missed by her nephew, Ryan Thomas, and her niece, Caroline Thomas, both of Boston.  She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her dearly.

Jackie graduated from Scituate High School in 1985 and went on to study nursing at Curry College.  She began her career in home healthcare with the Norwell VNA and eventually transitioned to private care. She was a passionate caregiver who left a lasting imprint on the lives of her patients and their families. She had a larger than life personality but an even bigger heart, always going above and beyond to make everyone around her feel loved. Whether it was with a gift, a simple check in, or a thoughtful gesture, Jackie took a genuine interest in all those who were fortunate enough to have her in their lives.

Jackie had a great sense of humor and quick wit. Someone dear to her put it best when he said, “ We have lost an angel with an attitude.” In her spare time she enjoyed reading, gardening, and cooking, mostly because they were pastimes she could share with her loved ones. She loved her hometown of Scituate, as well as the New England coast. She enjoyed many trips with her family to Chatham, Kennebunkport, Edgartown, and Nantucket and encouraged her nephew and niece to travel whenever the opportunity presented itself.

Jackie was an animal lover and devoted dog mom to her Saint Bernard, Jackson, Yellow Labrador & Husky mix, Buddy, and her Cocker Spaniel, Molly. In fact, she never met a dog she didn’t want to take in. In her love for animals, friends, and family, Jackie left a legacy of love.

The family is planning a private Celebration of Life for a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jackie’s memory to the Scituate Animal Shelter of Massachusetts or the National Kidney Foundation.
