James Evans Hoy, Jr., 64, of Marshfield, MA (formerly of Cohasset, MA) passed away peacefully on May 30, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was the eldest child of his beloved father, James Evans Hoy, Sr. (decd.) formerly of Cohasset and Newton, MA; and his devoted mother, Lauraine Campbell Hoy of Norwell, MA formerly of Cohasset and Baddeck, Nova Scotia.
Jim is survived by his cherished siblings, Cindy Hoy-Kalman (Casey) of Hingham, MA; Jonathan C. Hoy (Lynn) of Barrington, RI; Jordan D. Hoy (Pam) of Sturbridge, MA; and Cathryn L. Hoy of Norwell, MA. He was “Uncle Jimmy” to Christopher, Alex, Jamie, Sara, Rachel, Joshua, Luke, Nathan, Eli (decd.), Grace and Campbell. He was Great Uncle to John, Avery (decd.) and Scarlett.
Jim's faith in his Lord never wavered. He was equally passionate in his love of family & friends. At a very young age he was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome and Rheumatoid Arthritis. For most of his career, Jim worked in financial services and as a professional courier. He was an avid Boston sports fan and enjoyed sharing that enthusiasm and other wisdom with anyone who was interested. Jim was well known for being a kind soul with a ready sense of humor, quick to forgive and strong enough to ask for forgiveness.
Family will partake in a private burial ceremony and celebration of his life on June 8, 2021.
