James Puzinas Obituary

James Joseph Puzinas, 61.  passed away at home unexpectedly April 7, 2022.  Jim was greatly loved by his family and all who knew him. He lived life fully and with great joy. An excellent student, Jim graduated from Boston College High School in 1978,  and Harvard University in 1982. He joined by Putman Investments and later left with partner to form The Patriot Group. The Company was later sold to John Hancock Insurance Co. Jim and Walter then Atlantic Capital Partners. After that company dissolved, and Jim formed his own investment management firm, Harbor Point Investment Trust. He also contributed to the success involved with his wife’s business, Blue Heron Fine Art.

Jim was a true renaissance man. He loved gardening of all kinds and was a master of propagating specialty and rare plants. He enjoyed travelling and was an expect skier in his youth and bicyclist. He loved shell fishing on Cape Cod with all his buddies. Jim was extraordinarily well read and was able to discuss almost every topic at length. He was devoted to Shelley, his wife of 33 years, and their beloved pets over the years, most recently cats "Ozzy and Arabella", and dog "Hubble".

Jim is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Martha Puzinas of Quincy, MA. He is survived by his loving family: his wife Shelley Brown of Cohasset; sister Pamela Milunovich of New Canaan, CT; brother-in-law Steven Milunovich; nephews/nieces Amanda, Austin, and Alexis Milunovich; and brother-in-law Parker J. Brown and his partner Patricia Fila of Monson, MA.

In memory of Jim, donations can be made to the New England Wildlife Center, the Scituate Animal Shelter, the Animal Rescue League of Boston, or another animal or nature charity of your choice.
