Jeanne Kopcinski Obituary

Jeanne d’Arc St. Pierre Kopcinski, age 72, of Rockland, MA., died peacefully on May 28, 2022, after a brief stay at the Pat Roche Hospice House in Hingham, MA.

Jeanne was born on May 25, 1950, in the Village of Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska, New Brunswick, Canada.  Her family moved to Massachusetts when she was 14 years old.  She quickly learned English and graduated from Agawam High School class of 1968.  One of her proudest moments was when she became an American citizen at the age of 42.  Jeanne worked for many years at the corporate headquarters for Ahold Foods in Windsor Locks, CT and Big Y Supermarkets in Springfield, MA.  She retired in 2012 and moved to the South Shore.

She is survived by her husband James Kopcinski who she spent 50 happy years with.  She is also survived by her children David Boutwell and wife Laura, of Windsor Locks, CT, Bryan Boutwell and wife Gina of Pembroke, MA, Michelle Aberbach and husband Phil of Cohasset, MA, as well as grandchildren Chelsea, Suzanna, Claudia, Logan, Cooper, and Dax.  She leaves her siblings Roger St. Pierre and his wife Nicole, of Montreal, Canada, Raymonde Parolo of Agawam, MA, and Gilles St. Pierre and his wife Kathy of Agawam MA, as well as many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.  She is predeceased by her parents Carmel St. Pierre and Eugenie Marie Tardif St. Pierre.

Jeanne enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to watch their dance recitals, baseball games, and soccer games. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and knitting and would donate her knitted works to Dana Farber.  The beach was one of her favorite places to visit where she would spend time collecting sea glass.

A private celebration of her life will be planned for a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, PO Box 414238 Boston, MA  02241-4238, or at give.themmrf.org.
