Jeremiah F. Barrett, of Cohasset, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2021 at the age of 87. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol Barrett, and his devoted children Christine and Bill Rogg (Hingham, MA), Julie Barrett (Cohasset, MA), Susan and Rob Brierley (Cohasset, MA), and his brother and sister-in-law Bob and Mary Carolyn Barrett (Foxboro, MA). He leaves behind his grandchildren: Tom and Ali Rogg (Woburn, MA), Amanda and Mike Townsend (Swampscott, MA), Charlotte Rogg (Cambridge, MA), Stephanie Brierley (Cohasset, MA), Christopher Brierley (Cohasset, MA), Kyle Brierley (Cohasset, MA) and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was born in Boston, MA in 1933 to Jeremiah A. and Gertrude Barrett and was raised in Hyde Park. Jerry graduated from Boston Latin, Harvard, Northeastern, and New England School of Law with degrees in engineering and law. He worked at Sylvania and at the Hingham District Court System as Assistant Clerk Magistrate. In retirement, he enjoyed walking the Cohasset Middle/High School with the Walking Club, attending the Old Goats Club luncheons, or socializing with his many friends at Dunkin Donuts. Jerry was an avid reader and could often be found at the Paul Pratt Memorial Library – Cohasset. Throughout his life, Jerry enjoyed taking his family on day trips around New England and visiting Martha’s Vineyard.
