John Ernest Belanger, 69, of Marshfield, passed away on March 24, 2016 surrounded by family. Born August 30, 1946 in Wellesley, MA to Henry P. and Margery Belanger. Survived by his wife, Patricia Carroll Belanger of Marshfield; daughter Leigh Belanger Moore and husband Galen H. Moore of Boston; son Henry P. Belanger of Marshfield; and his beloved grandsons, Ernest Q. Moore and Ellis C. Moore. Also survived by James H. Belanger and wife Susan of Needham; Robert A. Belanger and wife Donna of Littleton; William P. Belanger and wife Maryanne of Winchester; Sarah Belanger Earley and husband Tony of San Francisco, CA; and Joseph P. Belanger and wife Debra of Carlisle.

John was in the wholesale lumber business for over 30 years. He was a member of the Harry L. Folsom Club and the Sliver Club. He was a Belmont High grad, class of 1964 and a proud graduate of University of Notre Dame, class of 1968. He was a passionate golfer and a member of Hatherly Country Club in Scituate for 35 years.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 11 am in St. Anthony Church, Cohasset. Visiting hours Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 4-6 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 160 So. Main St. (across from St. Anthony Church), Cohasset, MA. 02025.
