John Reidy, III Obituary

John D. Reidy III of Scituate, died May 4th, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. John was a dedicated firefighter, lobsterman, and carpenter. He was the beloved husband of Sandra (McInnis) Reidy and married for 31 years. John was a devoted father to his five boys: Jack, TJ, Justin, Derek and Sean. 

 

He was a dedicated member of the Scituate Firefighters Local 1464 for 28 years and a talented carpenter. He enjoyed spending his time watching his boys play Scituate hockey, lobstering off the coast of Scituate Harbor, and hosting family and friends by the pool for his famous barbecue ribs.

 

John was the son of Florence Audrey Reidy and the late John D. Reidy Jr. He also leaves behind his siblings Jane Reidy, Kristen Lopez and her husband Hector, Kate Reidy, James Reidy and his wife Shantelle, and Paul Reidy. He was also “Uncle John” to many nieces and nephews. 

 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday, May 11th from 4-8 PM in the St. Anthony’s Church-2 Summer Street, Cohasset, MA 02025. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, May 12th at 11AM in St. Anthony’s Church, Cohasset.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at Friends of Dana-Farber, 450 Brookline Ave., SW120, Boston, MA 02215.
