Katharine Walker Obituary

Katharine Hourihan Walker Of Scituate, MA and Palm City, FL, passed away at the age of 85 on June 4, 2020 after a brief illness. She is survived by her beloved husband John, and children Katharine of Braintree, MA, John, III of Boxford, MA, Richard and his wife Kristen of Hingham, MA, and grandchildren John, IV, Nicholas, Kayla, Cameron, Gregory, Luke, Olivia, and Jake, and adored grand-dogs Kirby, Koho, and Tucker. She was predeceased by her parents and five siblings. Kathy was born May 17, 1935 in Boston, MA. She lived in West Roxbury and attended St. Aidan's in Brookline. Kathy earned a Bachelor's degree from Regis College, after which she taught elementary school. She devoted her time to raising her children, splitting the year between Milton and summers in Scituate. In the 1990's, Kathy and John began to spend more time in Florida, returning to Scituate for summers. During their summers in Scituate, Kathy was a regular at the Hatherly Country Club Nine-Holers. In her later years, she and John regularly attended live theater in both Florida and Boston. Kathy played mahjong frequently with her friends in Florida. A private family Burial was held and a Celebration of Life will follow in July. Donations in her memory may be made to NVNA and Hospice House, 120 Longwater Drive, Norwell, MA 02061
