Kevin Patrick O'Brien

Kevin Patrick O'Brien, 74, of Pembroke, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on July 20, 2023, surrounded by his family. Kevin was the loving husband of the late Diane Kurtz O'Brien. Kevin was born in Framingham, Massachusetts on November 4, 1948, to the late Cornelius "Neil" and Marguerite (Moran) O'Brien. Kevin is survived by his two children: Kevin P. O'Brien II and his wife, Rebecca (Litchfield), of Pembroke; Taryn (O'Brien) Casagrande and her husband, Michael, of Rockland. He was a devoted "Papa" to his granddaughter, Noelle Casagrande.

Kevin was a graduate of Cohasset High School, class of 1966. He received a bachelor's degree from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. He was the Board of Health Inspector for the towns of Cohasset, Hull, and Framingham, Massachusetts. In retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Kevin was a man of many talents, including being a pool shark, bocce champion, horseshoe ringer, and an incredibly kind human being. To put it simply, Kevin was impossible not to like. His calm temperament, infectious laugh, and inviting nature are qualities those he leaves behind will dearly miss.  When people think of “Big” Kevin, they will think of him with tanned skin, a pipe in his mouth, Miller High Life in his hand, and a huge smile on his face.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday July 25, 2023, from 5-8pm at the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer Street, Cohasset, MA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at 10am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 2 Summer Street, Cohasset, MA.
