Lorraine Joyce (Starratt) Dillon

On December 1st, 2020, Lorraine J. Dillon passed away peacefully while being cared for by her family at her Norwell home. Lorraine was the beloved wife of her best friend and greatest love, the late Richard M. Dillon.  She was born on December 22, 1927 to Lowe and Merle Starratt and grew up in the Houghs Neck area of Quincy with her 7 brothers and sisters. Lorraine was an exceptional wife and mother and cared deeply for her family and neighbors. She was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing Sunday dinners for her family and friends. Despite her large family of nine children, she always included many of the neighborhood children in family outings and created wonderful memories.  Her hands were always busy sewing, knitting or quilting clothes, blankets or fantastic Halloween costumes for all. She is survived by her children Richard Gainey, Linda Malloy, the late Daniel Gainey, Debra Conkey, Patricia Dillon, Gail Knudsen, Nancy Abreu, Annette Gentapanan and John Dillon and their spouses.  She was dedicated to her 50 plus grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great, great grandchild. She will be missed by all.

A private service is planned with her family on Friday, December 4th at McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home.
