Mary Klier Obituary

Mary Alyce Klier, 89, of Cohasset, passed away on February 24, 2021, surrounded by her family. The loving wife of the late Joseph D. Klier, mother of Joseph D. Klier, Jr. and wife Marilyn of Hingham, Denise Keating and husband, Thomas of Duxbury, Leslie McLean and husband Charles of Scituate, Peter and wife Linda of Cohasset, Caroline Wolfe of Cohasset, Michael and wife Laurette of Lyme, CT. The sister of Jean Lewis and sister in law of Robert Lewis and the late Tina Canavan and Charles Stuhl. Adoring grandmother of Lauren Ladd, Kristin Godfrey, Lindsey Barrett, Emily Keating, John Keating, Michelle Lemaire, Thomas Lemaire, Christian Lemaire, Julia Klier, Natalie Klier, Joseph Klier, Sophie Wolfe, Jennifer Wolfe, Matthew Wolfe, Ford Klier, Ingrid Klier and Michael Klier, Jr., as well as nine great-grandchildren. ‘Nana Mary’ was a true original. In addition to her ability to ‘feed a small army’, she delivered Meals on Wheels and made food for Rosie’s Place in Boston. Truly a generous and selfless individual, Mary was unflinchingly honest, and friends and family always knew where they stood with her.  She loved life’s simple pleasures: a walk with a friend, golf with the ladies at Hatherly, a good hand in bridge, a big golden retriever at her feet, and a house full of grandchildren at the holidays.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 11 am in St. Anthony’s Church, Cohasset. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Mary Klier may be made to Rosie’s Place, 889 Harrison Avenue, Boston, MA 02118.
