Maureen Flaherty Obituary

Maureen Frances Flaherty (Fay) age 75, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2021. A long-time resident of Cohasset, Maureen was the devoted wife of William J. Flaherty for 50 years; beloved mother of Scott Flaherty and his wife Courtney of Boyds, Maryland; loving sister to Ruth Ann Pike, and husband Carl, of Kingston; Donna Lenahan of Raynham; and Patricia Fay of Naples, Florida; and grandmother to Morgan Flaherty and Camryn Flaherty.
 

Maureen is the daughter of the late Howard and Ruth Fay (White). She was raised in Dorchester with her three sisters where she attended St. Patrick High School. She was a graduate of the Lynn Hospital School of Nursing in 1966 and became a registered nurse, working at several long-term care facilities before retiring. Maureen was an avid reader, talented needle point enthusiast, and enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends. Maureen was also a passionate follower of all the Boston professional sports teams.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony Church in Cohasset, on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 10:30 am. Interment Glastonbury Abbey, Hingham. Donations to honor Maureen may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

 

Her family is thankful to have many happy memories to cherish of a loving wife, mother, sister and good friend to all who knew her.
