Michael V. Ladrigan, 76, of Cherryfield, Maine, formerly of Scituate, MA, passed away peacefully at home on June 12, 2025.

Born on February 7, 1949, in Boston, MA, Michael was the beloved son of the late Vincent and Eleanor Ladrigan. He graduated from Quincy High School and attended Wentworth Institute of Technology for two years, studying engineering before answering a higher call to service.

Michael proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and later dedicated over three decades to public safety with the Scituate Police Department, where he retired as a respected Sergeant after 35 years.

A lifelong automotive enthusiast, Michael had a deep passion for classic cars and spent his early and retirement years as a trusted automotive technician. He found joy in working with his hands, especially under the hood of a muscle car or out on a snowmobile trail. He was known for his generous spirit, always ready to lend a hand to a friend, whether it was fixing an engine or helping out in a pinch. Michael was happiest outdoors, riding his motorcycle, mud trucking, or soaking up the salt air by the ocean.

He was a loving father to his daughter, Rachel Scammon. Michael recently gained a new son in law, Stephen Scammon, and was looking forward to getting to know him and his family in the upcoming years. He was a devoted companion whose heart belonged to the woman he loved, Karen Canelos, with whom he shared over 26 years of unwavering connection. He is also survived by Dan and Marcia Ladrigan; Jen Canelos; Hannah McGrath and her husband Brian; and their children Mackenzie O'Donnell and Abbey McGrath, and held a special place in his heart for the Sherbs Family. Michael valued his friendships deeply and was the kind of man others could count on—always ready with a story, a helping hand, or a good laugh.
