Paul Edward Buckley, Jr. passed away on October 12, 2021 after fighting a long illness. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul Edward Buckley, Sr. and Ethel Terese Fava.
He leaves behind his loving wife Susan Janine Buckley (Ross), his son Paul Edward Buckley III, of Claremore OK, his sister Cheryle Teresa Cathcart and her husband Matthew, and his sister Laura Jean Buckley and husband Gil Siler, all of Las Vegas, NV, his mother and father in law Edward and Marilyn Ross, of Norwell, MA brothers- in-law, Brian Ross, Gary Ross, Ted Ross and his wife Ann Marie. Paul is also survived by many loved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Paul was born on November 7, 1963 in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts and grew up in Braintree, Massachusetts. He was an alter boy at St. Francis of Assisi, and graduated from Braintree High School. He joined the United States Marine Corps to serve his country and after serving his country, he worked for MCI Walpole for many years, successfully transitioning to other occupations until he was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, after having been exposed to toxic water while stationed at Camp Lejeune. His case made national headlines, set precedent and helped many many other families affected with disease and aided in The Honoring America's Veterans and Caring for Camp Lejeune Families Act. Paul was passionate about learning, he received his MBA in Finance from Boston College's Carroll School of Management and pursued a law degree from New England School of Law.
Although God called him home at a young age, Paul lived a very full life. He loved to travel, all Boston sports teams, cooking, golf, horse-racing, boating, stock trading, and playing his guitar. He loved his family, friends and lived life to it's fullest.
Cherished memories of you will never fade. You live on in the hearts of those you touched, we miss you Paul, love you always.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on October 19, 2021 at 10:00am in St. Helen's Church, 383 Washington Street, Norwell, MA 02061. Burial with military honors will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery. Reception to follow.
