Richard Green Obituary

Richard Allen Green, known as Rick or Ricky, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 65 on August 30, 2022, having fought cancer for several years. Rick was a larger-than-life figure in his lifelong home of Cohasset, and will be remembered fondly from his years as a chef in local restaurants, a friendly face behind the counter at Tedeschi’s, and his decades in the antiques business, most recently as the proprietor and visionary behind Patina Antiques on Route 3A. Anyone who knew Rick, whether for five minutes or his whole life, will know that he was always willing to share his jokes, stories, immense knowledge, gourmet meals, or the shirt off his back to anyone in need.

He will be dearly missed by his loving partner Diane, son Sam and partner John, stepson Tony and wife Tracy, cousin Paul (“Iggy”), and siblings Jack and wife Serena, Bob and wife Paula, Teri and husband Bob, Jillian and husband Casey, Susannah and husband Tyler, and Josh. He is also survived by his friend and former wife Joanne, many beloved nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and countless dear friends whom he always considered family. He is predeceased by his mother Mary, father John, and many other family and friends.

A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, September 10th at St. Anthony’s Parish in Cohasset, followed by a burial at Woodside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rick’s name to the Greater Boston Food Bank, so that his memory can provide meals to those in need, as he always did in life.
