Robin Gray Obituary

With profound sadness, we announce that Robin Elizabeth Gray of Marshfield, MA, formerly of Holliston, MA and Scituate, MA, passed away on September 14, 2020 at the Pat Roche Hospice Home in Hingham, MA. She was 65 years old and died of Glioblastoma.

Robin was most at peace in solitude, and was a creature of comfort. She adored her cats, the tranquility of nature (particularly lilacs, lavender, and her gardens in the spring), and collecting items she found to be beautiful, building a formidable ironstone and antiques collection throughout her life. She was most content sitting on the shores of East Pond in Maine, where she spent every summer listening to loons, floating in the lake, and sunning herself, with her family at her side over the years. Robin had a quiet but sharply irreverent sense of humor. She loved pranking people, but her ruses were always betrayed by her sly and warm smile. She found contentment in later years in her pets, baking, watching Outlander, and spending time in her beautiful home.

Robin worked as a phlebotomist and a paralegal throughout her career, most recently at BioReference Labs and Mercy Diagnostics, but her primary role was as a mother. She found fulfillment in raising her two daughters, and took pride in raising them to be strong-willed and independent, with a healthy sense of self-deprecation and resilience. She attended Lasell College and Bentley College, and graduated from Scituate High School.

Robin was predeceased by her parents Bernard and Natalie Gray of Scituate. She will be sorely missed by her daughters Jen Weedon and Cassandra Marcucci, her sisters Pamela Gray Prescott and Susan Grassie, her son-in-laws Garry Boyle and Matthew Marcucci, her beloved grandchildren Alex, Thomas, and Ellie, and her cats Hunee and Kiwi.

A private memorial will be held in Marshfield, MA for family and friends on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020. A secondary memorial will likely be held at East Pond, Maine in 2021.  Memorial donations can be sent to the Glioblastoma Foundation or the Pat Roche Hospice Home, whose caregivers gave her exceptional treatment in the last weeks of her life, and for whom her family is grateful.
