Sally Ann Toppan of Hull, formerly of Cohasset, passed away at home on February 3, 2021, after suffering a stroke on New Year’s Eve. Sally will be dearly missed by her daughter, Darcy Schramn of Cohasset; son, Howard Schramn and his significant other, Cathy Calvi, of Hull; daughter, Jennifer Schramn of Bonita Springs, FL; son, Charles Toppan of Brookline; grandson, Trevor Schramn of Boston; sister, Mary Louise Thomas of Naples, FL and many nieces and nephews.
Sally was a loving mother who will be remembered for her competitive spirit, flair for fashion, and quick wit. She owned and operated Bowman & Company in Cohasset for some years, always going above and beyond to make her customers look their best. Her award winning, hand-made oriental rugs are one-of-a-kind treasures. Naturally athletic, Sally was on the synchronized swimming team in high school at Northfield School for Girls, played tennis throughout her life and bowled competitively up until the pandemic closed the lanes. A firm believer in the power of positivity, Sally cheered on her favorite Celtics, Bruins and Patriots, rarely missing a game. According to her grandson, Trevor, “Mimi” was a “cool” grandmother who was full of life. You’d never be able to guess her age unless she told you (good luck with that).” Sally had a quiet reserve. She was a forward-thinking entrepreneur who formed her own opinions and lived her truth. She never judged people and loved unconditionally.
Private memorial service to be held at a later date.
