Vera Jean T. Hughson

Vera Jean Teresa Hughson, 70, passed away on February 28th, 2020 in Weymouth Massachusetts after a long illness. As to her wishes she will be cremated and a memorial will be planned in her home country, of Dominican Republic.

Vera Jean was born on October 3rd, 1949 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to Teresa Vera Michelena and Patrick Newborn Hughson. She had a successful career in owning a travel agency and working in the hospitality industry. Throughout her life she traveled for business and pleasure and visited several countries, including her favorite cities, Paris, Rome and Epping, New Hampshire.   

During her spare time, Vera Jean loved to garden and had plants all around her, especially orchids, which included membership in Orchid Societies in Santo Domingo and South Florida. She also enjoyed photography and loved reading and learning history.

She is survived by her three children, Claudia Cuscianna of Pembroke MA, Andrew Hadjipetrou of Raleigh NC, Teresa Hadjipetrou of West Palm Beach, FL, her two grandchildren, Avelina and Leonardo Cuscianna and her brother James Hughson of Lutz, FL. Family and friends; Maria Luisa, Audrey, Eddie, Willie, Raquel, Arlette, Rosario, Sheila, Raquel, Flava and her classmates from Colegio, Santo Domingo. 

Her brilliant mind, her wonderful sense of humor and loving kindness will surely be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is now at peace, where there is no more pain and sorrow. Her family wants to thank everyone for all their prayers, love and support. Families are Forever, until we meet again.
