Walter Elliot, 69 of Scituate, MA passed away on September 8, 2021, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of 38 years to Ellen Elliot, and devoted father of Jennifer Ives and her husband Fred of Marshfield, and Kevin Elliot and his wife Stacey of Scituate.
Walter was the very proud grandfather of Harry and Jack Ives of Marshfield. He is survived by one sister, Sharon Senna and her husband Paul of Tewksbury, and brother in law to Richard Robinson, Jane Jones, John and Barbara Robinson, Ted Robinson, Jim and Rosa Robinson, Frank and Sue Robinson and the late Bud Robinson. He also had many nieces and nephews and family friends of whom he adored.
Raised in Tewksbury, he is the son of the late Walter R. Elliot and Eleanor M. Elliot. Walter was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and Suffolk University Sawyer Business School. He had an accomplished career of over 45 years and was the CEO of multiple software companies. While he loved to travel the world for his work, he never missed a hockey game or recital for his children. For many years Walter could be found in his happy place on the water, as he was an avid sailor. He loved living in Scituate and was heavily involved as co-founder of Quackers Pre School with his wife Ellen. He was a dedicated Boston sports fan with a hat for every occasion. Later in life his hobbies included photography and wine, but most importantly his two grandchildren of which he was their biggest fan. Most will remember Walter telling stories of his travels and his grandchildren’s vibrant youth sports careers.
A private funeral service for the family will be hosted by McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, Cohasset, MA. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 1pm to 6pm at the home of Kevin and Stacey Elliot in Scituate.
