Abby S. (Streeter) Roake

Abby Streeter Roake, age 55, of Scituate, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 17, 2016. Mother of Barrett F. Roake and his wife Melanie of Scituate and Aedan Roake of Scituate. Daughter of the late Donald and Martha Streeter of Maine. Sister of Craig Streeter of New York, David Streeter of Texas, Rebecca Chen of New Jersey. Aunt of Lindsay, Michael, Zachary, and Olivia. Also survived by the father of her two boys, Brian F. Roake of Scituate and her loving dog Tator Tot.

Abby was a devoted mother and dedicated hockey mom. She volunteered for the Scituate High School Football Boosters. She was a graduate of John Jay High School, Class of ’79 in Kotanah, NY., as well as Boston University, Class of ’83. Abby worked as a freelance graphic designer and more recently worked for M.I.T. Press. She loved to garden and cook, and was very fond of a family vacation spot on Popham Beach, Maine.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 3-7 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central Street (off Rt. 123, near State Police Barracks), Norwell Center, MA. 02061. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Abby may be sent to the Scituate Animal Shelter, 780 CJC Hwy, Scituate, MA. 02066 due to her love of animals and their devoted care of Tator.
