Anna Marie (Norton) McArdle

Passed away peacefully on January 16, 2016 at her home in Scituate surrounded family.  Anna was the beloved wife of and is survived by Kevin McArdle with whom she shared nearly 62 years of marriage.  She was a dedicated mother and is survived by daughters; Maura, Catherine (Robert) Bowes, Paula (Christopher Vondrasek), Ellen (John) Chambers, and son Kevin.  She is also survived by five grandchildren; Meghan and Liam Bowes and Aidan, Colleen and Padraic Chambers.   Anna was born on February 16, 1927 to James and Mary Ellen Norton and grew up proud of her Irish heritage on Mission Hill in Roxbury.  She graduated from Mission Hill Girls High School in 1945 and worked for the City of Boston until she began to raise her family in Scituate.  She was predeceased by her parents and her brother James (Stretch) Norton.  Anna enjoyed traveling with the Telephone Pioneers, bingo nights at the KofC and lunches with Scituate girlfriends.  

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on January 19th 3-7pm at McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer Street, Cohasset.   A funeral Mass will be celebrated on January 20th at 10am at St. Anthony Church in Cohasset.  Interment will be at Cudworth Cemetary in Scituate.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cardinal Cushing School in Hanover.
