Grace Genevieve Good

Grace Genevieve (O’Malley) Good, of Cohasset, MA passed away on July 24 at the age of 100. Genevieve was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Lucille Fusz O’Malley of Chestnut Hill and Cohasset. She was loving wife to the late Frederick L. Good, Jr., a Boston insurance executive. A graduate of Manhattanville College, she worked as an assistant to the Dean of Harvard Law School. As a child, she travelled extensively with her mother and father, a prominent Boston advertising and newspaper executive. While at school in Switzerland as a teenager she took up the sport of skiing. Genevieve was an avid gardener and judge for The Cohasset Garden Club and the Garden Club of America. She enjoyed participating in Boston’s Spring Flower Shows and the many horticultural events that took her around the world. She was a member of The Museum of Fine Arts Ladies Committee where she was a docent and studied Egyptian antiquity. Genevieve loved to play golf. As a member of the Cohasset Golf Club she joined various Massachusetts Ladies Leagues and on one occasion shot a hole-in-one. The game of bridge was another passion of hers that led to many lasting friendships. Genevieve was predeceased by her siblings C. Desloge O’Malley, Louis J. O’Malley and Lucille McLoughlin. She is survived by her sister Celeste Wilhelmy of Potomac, MD and children Gretchen Sheets of Scituate, MA; Frederick L. Good, III of Cambridge, MA, Roger Good of Cohasset, MA and Galen Call of Carmel, CA. Genevieve was adored by her six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A memorial service and reception are scheduled for August 6th at 11am at St. Anthony’s Church in Cohasset, MA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cohasset Historical Society or Paul Pratt Memorial Library, Cohasset.
