Welcome to the memorial page for

Lorette (Catler) Bryant

August 25, 2016

Lorette Bryant (Catler) of Cohasset, MA, passed away on August 25th, 2016. She was born on Leap Day, February 29th, 1924. She is survived by her daughter, Lori Bryant, her grandsons Christopher and Evan Ackley, her sons Jon and Brad Catler, and her brother, Bill Bryant. Lorette was married to Chet Catler (1924 - 2006).
Lorette was an unforgettable person who touched many lives. In her youth in Australia, she was a ballet dancer who performed from the age of 3 in dance recitals with live orchestra under the stage name Baby Laurie Bryant. Her first marriage gave her the opportunity to come to the U.S. and after some time in Chicago, she went to Florida where she worked as a legal secretary. There she met Chet Catler, and they moved north to Massachusetts to start a family. She did volunteer work at the local consignment shop, made many great friends, and learned crafts including Bonsai and decoupage. Lorette also loved to travel, whether to California, Greece, or New York City.  She became an expert cook, gardener, and seamstress, and was a world class mother who became a favorite with her children’s friends, who could always count on her for a great meal and an encouraging word. Lorette had an incredible love of music, which she passed on to her kids, and her favorite music was country western.
After living in Cohasset for many years, she moved to Marina Bay in North Quincy, and then eventually settled at Sunrise Assisted Living in Cohasset, where the great staff included friends like Gerry Henry, who helped and comforted her in her final years. Services private.
