Miriam D. Chesley of Scituate, June 11, at age 91. Born in Standish ME, to Orin and Zela Dolloff.
A graduate of Standish High and Bates College '45, she moved to Boston to work in the field of biology, and there met and married John O. Chesley Jr. in 1952. Later following a passion for weaving and other fiber arts, Miriam researched the colonial tape loom, and was published on the subject in "Yankee Magazine", and their "Forgotten Arts Book Five"; she also wove and knit costume elements for the interpreters of Plimouth Plantation, and for "The Crucible" with groups of like talented women. She is survived by sister, Charlotte D. Turadian, son David D. Chesley and wife Molly, daughter Victoria C. Brega and husband David, grand daughters Katie and Lyddie Chesley, and great grand sons Jason and Joaquin.
A memorial service will be held on July 18th at 11:00 AM at McNamara Sparrell funeral home at 1 Summer St. in Cohasset, MA, with reception following at The Brega Gallery in The Resource building at 58 Main St. In Marshfield, MA.
