So sorry to hear about the loss of your Mom. Her warm smile, her sense of humor and laughter at our youthful antics are what I remember most.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Harris and Horte families, as well as all of Irene's friends. Irene will forever be in all of our memories.

Thought I'd share a few of my fondest memories of great times spent with Irene.

Our Childhood (Walnut Avenue East Braintree)
We grew up across the street from each other, Irene in Weymouth and I in East Braintree . Irene was 2 years older than me and my sister, Pat was 4 years. We were always together.

Movies We each paid 17 cents for a ticket at the old Weymouth Theater in Weymouth Landing. We got two feature movies, previews, cartoons and News of the day. What a bargain!!!

Swift Beach after long walks, we enjoyed a day of swimming. We brought our lunch, and played with jelly fish and horseshoe crabs. Later we held our towels around each other and got out of our wet suits before our long walk home.

Fishing and Skating at Pond Meadow off Summer St. We spent a lot of days there. I remember pulling in a fish, and hitting Irene in the face with it. She forgave me. We had to be home by 3, so Irene could bath and put on a dress before her Dad got home from work.

Square Dancing The three of us enjoyed Square Dancing at the Braintree Town Hall and Kramer's Hayloft.

Irene may be gone, but she'll never be forgotten.
