Dear John, Gardner, and Susan,
My heart goes out to you as you mourn the loss of a beloved wife and mother. Her full life which included sailing, advocating for children, and volunteering for a number of good causes, is a wonderful legacy that Katharine left for you.
In this winter of your lives, may you remember that spring, the season of hope and renewal, will come again.

Ivy, Thanks for writing! I don't think I ever told you how many times I thought about your history class, as I flew into Afghanistan in 2002 for making Frontrunner, a film about the woman who ran for president there, but certainly meant to.
