Katherine M. (MacLure) Lincoln

Katherine M. Lincoln, age 86, of Cohasset, died peacefully after a long illness on Sunday evening, July 12, 2015. She was predeceased by her father Henry G. MacLure, her mother Katherine P. MacLure, and her two brothers, Laurens MacLure and Henry G. MacLure, Jr. She was the beloved wife of Edwin C. Lincoln Jr. for sixty one years, the loving mother of Sarah (Lincoln) Trafidlo and her husband James F. of Sherborn, MA., Benjamin P. Lincoln of Reston, VA. and the late Edwin C. Lincoln III. She was the loving grandmother of Benjamin Trafidlo. Katherine is also survived by her two sisters-in-law, Janet W. MacLure of Amelia Island, FL., and Barbara Lincoln of No. Marshfield, MA and many nieces and nephews.

Katherine graduated from Beaver Country Day School in Brookline, MA and from Garland College in Boston, MA. She was very much a happy “people person”. She made friends wherever she went, whether it was the New England Farm and Garden Assoc., where she was on the board for many years, or St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church where her faith and floral arranging came together as her being chair of the Altar Guild for several years, or as a volunteer for the Council on Aging, or as a checker on Election Day, and a counter at town meetings. The family will miss her many creative talents, such as knitting, needle point and pottery and her interest in travel adventures, which took her around the world. Her love of golf, skiing, and bowling, and her interest in bridge, symphony and the arts brought her in contact with many wonderful people.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am on Friday Sept. 25, 2015 in St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 16 Highland Ave., Cohasset, MA. 02025. There was a private family interment in Cohasset Central Cemetery, Joy Place, Cohasset. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Katherine may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA. 02472 or to St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 16 Highland Ave., Cohasset, MA. 02025.
