Mildred D. "Mil" Woomer, a resident of Cohasset for 52 years, passed away on February 3, 2011 at the age of 92 in her home. Mil was born in Mt. Vernon N.Y. Mildred is fondly remembered by past generations of high school students for her 25 years of employment in the Library at the Cohasset High School. She also worked at several Cohasset Village locations and finished her career at the Tennis Club, where she worked until the age of 88. An avid bridge player, she also found time to volunteer at the South Shore Hospital for 20 years. Mil's warm smile greeted all, her independent spirit and great health enabled her to continue to live alone and continue driving until the age of 91.
She is survived by her loving Children, Deborah Protulis and her husband William; William Woomer and his wife Susanne; pre-deceased by her infant son, Donald. Devoted grandmother of Scott Woomer and Kara Protulis and great grand grandmother of Allyssia Woomer and Joseph Protulis. Best friend to Kathy & Betty.
Auntie Mil was grateful to her many friends, especially Joanne, Dotty and her Old Pasture Road neighbors who became her extended family.
